Show Ponies Broncos on film Chevy Disc Brake Swap Chevy Disc Swap

I collect all types of models-Hot Wheels, Matchbox, slot cars, and the larger scales such as 1/43, 1/24, and 1/18. I'm not one of those serious nut-type of collectors-I just get whatever looks cool to me and don't hesitate to modify them when I feel like it. I searched in vain for an HO-scale Early Bronco, but since neither Hot Wheels nor Matchbox ever produced an Early Bronco in HO scale, I had to get an Aurora AFX slot car Baja Bronco and modify it to look like my full-scale version..here it is before I started cutting.

These things are getting kinda rare and collectible, so the price is going up..(just like the real ones!) Collectors all over are probably pissed at me for cutting up an original, uncut example, but I don't care.

After carefully removing the chromed plastic roll bar/wing, driver's heads(!), and test-fitting some big meats from one of my kid's forgotten toys.

Major surgery with a cut-off wheel was required to remove the interior and fake spare tire in the bed area and replace them with a full roll cage, bucket seats, shifters, steering wheel, dash, bed floor, and a tailgate.

After spending a little time with a Dremel, here it is with a bed and tailgate from a Tonka Dakota P/U, cut down slightly-the seats, rollbar, and wheels are from a really cheap Jeep toy. Chassis is a Tonka Jeep flatfender (the wheelbase matched.) I'm working on a custom chassis w/Bic pen front coil springs, and zip-tie rear leafs.

Here's a Jeep flatfender project I'm already working on-notice the Matchbox Unimog chassis, custom coat-hanger rollbar, 9,000 gram winch, and awesome articulation.   Check out the bucket seats, center console, and chrome shifter - a rear mounted spare tire and gas can carrier is in the works. I haven't decided on a color yet.
